Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the Opening of the Club Italia Lounge The Club Italia Inauguration Ceremonies also featured a flag raising and ribbon cutting ceremony, an introduction presentation from Undersecretary of State, The Honorable Adolfo Urso, a press conference with CEO and Chairman of Show Management, Mr. Efrem Zimbalist III, as part of the speaker’s panel, and an a photography exhibit by Nautica Editrice entitled From Dolce Vita to Myth – Italian Shipbuilding: A Success Story.

Signing of the Proclamation between Show Management and UCINA One notable event which marked the Boat Show this year, was the Opening Ceremonies of the Club Italia Lounge hosted by the Italian Trade Commission on February 12th. This inauguration proved to be very special as it included the signing of a Proclamation of Joint Cooperation between The Italian Marine Industry Association (UCINA) and Show Management, organizers of The Miami Yacht and Brokerage Show.

The purpose of the Plywood Regatta Scholarship Fund is to provide financial support to deserving and qualified Plywood Regatta participants for advanced education towards recreational marine industry careers. Recipients must be graduating marine magnet high school students or marine technical school students pursuing a career in the marine industry. The scholarship winner(s) will be selected by the Plywood Regatta Scholarship Fund Committee.

Yachtsman Ronald Jourdain. He is one of the 20 navigators who set sail from the harbour of Les Sables d'Olonne in early November 2008 in the Vendée Globe race which occurs every four years. The media follows this event of those sailing around the world single-handed, with no ports of call, marking the southern tips of three great capes of the African, Australian and American continents within 3 months. This event is viewed as something quite normal, a mere sporting event!
